Florida Poker Up
Florida Poker Up
The game of poker has always been popular, but for residents of Florida it is somewhat of a new phenomenon. The state has expanded their gambling laws in the past several years and it has led to an increase in poker players around the state.

The Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the expanded gambling options in the state. The track had a record $2.4 million more revenue from their poker room in 2007.

That figure was an increase of sixty three percent. They are not the only ones who have benefited from the poker boom, however. Several casinos in South Florida have also had an increase in their poker rooms.

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida, is the most well known casino in South Florida. They are not the only ones, though. Gulfstream has also seen an increase in poker players over the past several years.

Over at the Seminole Coconut Creek casino, they have already expanded their poker room, and they will most likely have to do so again in the near future. The demand of poker players is beginning to outnumber the supply of venues that are available to play in, and that is good news for casino owners in the Sunshine State.
