35 Players Left The World Poker Tour has put on a good show in California this week. Their Legends of Poker tournament did not draw the participants that were anticipated, but once the cards started being dealt, the turnout did not matter.
What did matter was the players that are at the tournament are there for one reason only. They are trying to get their hands on the top prize of over $1 million.
The beginning of the tournament moved quickly at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens. Players were being eliminated from the tournament at a rapid pace, but then as fewer players were left, play began to slow.
Currently there is only thirty five players left. Gary Najaryan is the chip leader with 895,000 chips. He is followed closely by Trong Nguyen, with 620,000 chips. Layne Flack is third with half a million chips.
The blinds are starting to get up there also. They currently are at 4,000-8,000, with an ante of 1,000. The World Poker Tour will air footage of the Legends tournament when they begin their new television contract with Fox Sports Net.
