Casinos in South Florida are having a hard enough time keeping up with the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, so it was an unfortunate time for a tropical storm to come through the area.

Tropical Storm Fay is sweeping through the Keys and appears headed towards the West Coast of Florida. The showers that come with the outer bands have been hitting South Florida, however, and it has caused a decrease in players going to play poker in the areas casinos.

At the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino the poker room was not at full capacity for much of the day on Monday. The pit bosses and dealers expected that it would be a slow night in the poker room.

"I came out to play just because there is nothing better to do. I am not going to sit home and do nothing because of the storm, so I came to play some poker," says Jennine Walters of Coconut Creek.

Poker rooms across South Florida have already been hurt by the Hard Rock that has added blackjack to their list of offered games. The weather for Monday night and into Tuesday could further hurt revenue numbers from the poker rooms for the month of August.
