Bringing In The Men
Bringing In The Men
The game of poker has developed almost a cult like following. No matter where you go in the world, the game of poker can be found. At the bars and in casinos people are playing. Whether being played for money or for fun, poker has become the game of choice for the twenty-first century.

Much of the games' popularity has to do with its appeal to both men and women. And with more women playing poker now than ever before, the game promises to keep growing.

There are only a couple of things that men enjoy more than gambling, eating, and drinking. Looking at pretty women might be tops on the list. So, it can be said that with every woman that is introduced to the game of poker, ten men will follow.

Men go to bars not so much to drink, but to see if they can find women to meet and mingle with. If more women are at the poker tables, the game becomes more of a social gathering rather than a gambling one. And the casinos know that men will lose money with more regularity if women are watching them do so.

So casinos gear their marketing efforts towards women. The majority of the promotions run at casinos are for slot machines, and the majority of people who play slot machines have been proven to be women, although those numbers have been evening out over the past decade.

Now, the casinos are realizing they can start to use that same marketing angle for their poker rooms.

"When there are good looking women at my table, I get better tips from the men at the table. I don't know if they are just showing off in front of the woman or what, but I certainly see a difference," said John Trembley, a dealer from Wales.

If it is true that women will help increase the popularity of the game of poker in the future, then the world should be ready for even more of the game than has already been seen.

The women have learned the game and are not going away from the tables, and that is a good thing for casinos, and for poker.
