At this year's Main Event at the WSOP, there were more Russians than ever before in the tournament. They have taken to the game, and it does not appear like that trend will be ending anytime soon.
This year two Russians went home with WSOP bracelets, and it was not just men that were doing the damage. Svetlana Gromenkova won the Ladies Championship while Vitaly Lunkin won a No-Limit event.
There is also still a strong chance that Russia is home to the 2008 Main Event champion. Ivan Demidov will be playing at the final table in November and will be starting second in chips.
Another Russian, Kiril Gerasimov cashed in at the WSOP for over $400,000 and Nikolay Evdakov is now a world record holder for the most cashes in the WSOP with ten.
