Main Event Resuming The World Series of Poker returns to Las Vegas next Sunday when the Main Event brings in the final table participants to finish the tournament. Many of the players have been perfecting their skills over the past several months.
Dennis Phillips, one of the players at the final table, has used his fame to raise money for charity. He has auctioned a spot on his final table shirt, and the money raised will go to sufferers of Multiple Sclerosis. Phillips has also donated $10,000 to the Albert Pujols Foundation.
The chip leader at the final table will have plenty of competition. Ivan Demidov is right behind Phillips with 24,400,000. Phillips has 26,295,000. Scott Montgomery is in the third position with 19,690,000 chips.
The tournament has been delayed for several months under the new format the World Series of Poker has put in place this year. They have given the players time off, and will resume the final table on Sunday, November 9th.
The player who will have the biggest uphill battle will be Kelly Kim. Kim comes back to the final table as the low stack with only 2,620,000. Nobody else in the tournament has under 10,000,000 chips.
