Online Poker Free, Cat Retired As legal battles simmer regarding poker's status as a game of skill, a new wave of websites is designed to allow online poker play while meeting even the most stringent of state and national laws. ZOSOZ launched its new site, a combination of social network and poker tournaments, last week.
The new model addresses the widely accepted definition of what constitutes illegal gambling. That rule includes consideration, usually money, from players, reward in varying amounts to participants, and luck rather than skill employed in selection of winners.
While most poker enthusiasts, and the Poker Players Alliance, will insist that poker avoids the random luck clause by being a game of skill, ZOSOZ has also removed the consideration.
Rather than buy into a tournament, players pay a monthly subscription fee, which gives them access to the site's tournaments. The fee is paid to belong to the site, which also includes options like those of MySpace or Facebook. Playing the poker tourneys is free.
Tim Belisle, president of ZOSOZ, affirms that the site is packed with big rewards. "What makes ZOSOZ different from other online poker clubs is that we give away the most online poker tournament sweepstakes prizes annually -- daily $1,000 tournaments, weekly $10,000 tournaments, monthly $100,000 tournaments and a yearly $1 million tournament."
ZOSOZ also contains forums and chatrooms to learn how to play for novices, and learn to fine-tune one's game for experienced players. Belisle says, "ZOSOZ players have a great time participating in tournaments for huge prizes without being required to risk any hard-earned cash."
